Los Angeles – Great wood underwear Founder and designer Jermelle F. Pitts has been passionate about high quality men’s underwear, as far as he can remember. When he started his own underwear line in 2018, his goal was to create sustainable products.

Pitts set out to create a brand based in downtown Los Angeles. According to Shon Simon, a garment maker with which Pitts works, manufacturing, textiles, waistbands and fabrics are all made in Los Angeles. “He’s the perfect candidate to do it locally,” she said.

One of the highlights of Pitts’ underwear design is the special lining of the fabric called modals. “It’s an environmentally friendly fabric. It’s antibacterial, antibacterial, and retains its odor in a way that keeps it fresh,” says Simon.

The COVID-19 pandemic originally threatened his business, but after the Black Lives Matter movement urged people to support Black-owned businesses, Pitts eventually increased sales in 2020. saw. “But sales have fallen because it’s no longer at the forefront of the news,” Pitts said.

Another challenge Pitts faces is becoming a black gay designer in an industry that is not yet very comprehensive. “But every day, you just wake up, stay focused, plan, and chase your dreams,” Pitts said.
