Central Illinois High School Sports Awards 2021: Baseball


The Illinois spring season ended with the first Illinois High School Association postseasons in more than a year — including the baseball state finals in Normal, Joliet and Schaumburg.

Here are the 24 baseball honorees for the 2021 Central Illinois High School Sports Awards, starting with the player of the year and finalists named as part of the online award show held June 30. The rest are in alphabetical order. The show is linked above.

Easton Harris, Washington

PLAYER OF THE YEAR: The junior pitcher/second baseman went 7-0 with 83 strikeouts and a 1.27 ERA in 55 innings and hit .347 with four doubles, two triples and four homers with 20 RBIs, 31 runs and 17 stolen bases for the Panthers (24-8), who was the Class 3A fourth-place finisher. His individual accolades include Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 3A all-state and an all-Mid-Illini Conference first-team selection.
