Arlington Heights Police Ready For ‘Coffee For Champions’
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Though the name may have changed, the reason behind the annual event has not. “Coffee For Champions,” formerly called “Cop On A Rooftop,” returns throughout Illinois on Friday, Aug. 20, including in Arlington Heights.
The fundraiser for Special Olympics Illinois will run from 5 a.m. to noon at two Dunkin’ Donuts locations in Arlington Heights: 2106 S Arlington Heights Road and 1010 E Rand Road.
This year marks the 18th anniversary of the Dunkin’ with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. This event has been a huge success over the years. More than $5.75 million has been raised in Illinois, according to the Special Olympics Illinois website.
Law enforcement officers will be at more than 300 Dunkin’ location across the state to rally the communities in support of their local Special Olympics athletes.
Each guest who makes a donation to the Torch Run will receive a coupon for a free donut. Guests who donate $10 or more will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug (while supplies last) and a coupon for a free medium hot coffee. This year’s goal is to raise more than $870,000 for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois.
